Weekend Packing List: What to Pack for a Wilsons Prom Getaway

If you’re dreaming of a weekend at Wilsons Prom, you’re not alone. Between those coastal walks, sandy swims, and misty hikes, the Prom is one of Victoria’s most loved spots for a quick escape. But if you’ve ever been caught in a rain shower halfway up Mount Oberon or realised you left your warm layer back at camp, you’ll know that what you pack can make or break the trip.

To make things easy, we’ve pulled together a simple Wilsons Prom packing list - perfect for a weekend adventure with changeable weather and plenty of time outdoors.

What to Wear at Wilsons Prom

Wilsons Prom can swing from sunny to windy to drizzly in a single day, so think layers you can mix, match, and move in.

  • One waterproof jacket - A must-pack for coastal hikes or rainy mornings. Our Refuge Jacket is made for this kind of weather: waterproof, breathable, and lightweight enough to toss in your bag.

  • One fleece or warm mid layer - The Sugarloaf Fleece keeps you cosy for early walks or stargazing at night.

  • One pair of comfy pants - The Sundial Pant is ideal for hiking, lounging, or that long drive home.

  • Two tees and one base layer - Quick-dry and comfy for layering.

  • Swimmers - Because a dip at Squeaky Beach is basically mandatory.

  • Beanie and socks - Always a good idea when the temperature drops.

Footwear for the Prom

Good shoes make all the difference.

  • Lightweight hikers or walking shoes for trails

  • Sandals or slides for around camp

Ready for Your Next Prom Adventure?

From coastal walks to campfire chats, Wilsons Prom is the kind of place that reminds you how good it feels to be outside. With the right layers and a few simple comforts, you’ll be ready for anything the weekend brings.

P.S. Our Refuge Jacket in Topography was actually inspired by this very spot. The jacket’s name comes from Refuge Cove, one of Wilsons Prom’s most beautiful hidden bays, and our Topography print traces the real map of the Prom.
